    • Ok this is my first post. Here goes nothing.

    I’m sure most of you are not surprised that my first post is about JSA (Junior Statesmen of America). I wanted to right about it before it all fades from memory. Anyone who doesn’t like JSA. Stfu.

    Back to the point…

    Here are 20 serious life lessons

    1. Don’t be afraid to speak your mind
    2. Don’t judge people by how they look, or where they are from
    3. Be open to other people’s opinions, however wrong they might be
    4. You’re best friends will not be the people you expect them to be
    5. Your views on someone can change multiple times
    6. People don’t always act the way there actually are
    7. People can actually like you for who you are
    8. Be careful how honestly you express yourself
    9. Try to know who your real friends are
    10. You never really hate anyone
    11. Most people don’t show how they really feel
    12. You never know what is going on inside someone’s head
    13. You can have good friends that live very far away
    14. Good friends transcend the grade you’re in
    15. Power is addictive. And attractive
    16. A lot more people may notice and know who you are then you realize
    17. Planning events is a lot harder then it seems
    18. You are as confident as you think you are
    19.  When you really care about a person, you can never stay mad at them
    20. A single organization can change your life drastically

    1. Rich people aren’t always terrible. But most smart people are wealthy
    2. There are people from Scarsdale that aren’t bitches/assholes
    3. People live in Rye
    4.  Some republicans actually know what they are talking about
    5. JSA love is the best kind of love
    6. Not everyone in JSA is Jewish
    7. Ke$ha gets really catchy after a while
    8. Ukraine and Russia are not the same
    9. Magic happens at the JSA dances
    10. There are a lot more politically interested attractive girls then expected
    11. Don’t stop believing is an amazing song. And so much fun to sing at 3am.
    12. Don’t eat an egg mcmuffin and drink a giant ice coffee at 3 am (this wasn’t me but the person who did this knows who they are)
    13. You can actually gain a lot of influence and importance just by being good friends with important people
    14. How to play poker. I actually did learn this on JSA trips
    15. How to avoid certain people
    16. Having power is awesome
    17. Singing anything in the early hours of the morning will annoy people
    18. People are not always as old as they look
    19. Some freshman can be cool
    20. There are some really crazy people in JSA
